MC Duurzame grondstoffen

Duurzaamheid kent vele invalshoeken. In deze masterclass komen uiteenlopende duurzame materialen aan bod die vaak (nog) niet courant gebruikt worden, maar die wel potentieel hebben om voor verschillende producten te worden gebruikt. Dit seminarie is ideaal om eens te verdiepen in deze aparte materialen en deze later duurzaam te kunnen inzetten in uw producten en projecten!

PROGRAMMA

• De toekomst van coatings: het gebruik van hernieuwbare grondstoffen en biogebaseerde innovaties
  Deze presentatie schetst een beeld van de evolutie in de coatingindustrie waarbij de verschuiving naar duurzaamheid en milieuvriendelijkheid wordt benadrukt. De presentatie behandelt zowel het gebruik van biogebaseerde binders als het gebruik van biogebaseerde vulstoffen en additieven. Deze presentatie stelt nieuwe onderzoeksresultaten voor rond bio-PU coatings, PHA coatings and PLA coatings die als milieuvriendelijke binders worden gebruikt. Daarnaast stellen we het project AddBIO voor dat als platform zal dienen om hoogwaardige biogebaseerde additieven te bestuderen.

  Our presentation will delve into how Seastex led the emergence of mussel beard products, addressing the lack of innovative, circular, and sustainable building materials within the architecture and design industry, while also enabling the mussel industry to achieve carbon negativity. Our solution involves extracting, processing, and incorporating mussel beards from industrial aquaculture mussel waste into acoustic panels and furniture. Seastex's uniqueness stands out due to the purity of our mussel beard material, which grants it flame retardancy, superior acoustic properties, and circularity. We have seamlessly integrated these features into our architectural acoustic products, guaranteeing their complete recyclability.

  In de presentatie zullen voorbeelden getoond worden hoe door een holistische aanpak, meerdere doelen in een uniek gevormd eco-business systeem aangepakt kunnen worden. Dit kan door bruggen te bouwen, ruimer te denken en deze doelen dan met daadkracht te realiseren.

• Upcycling CO₂ to replace fossil fuels and restore the climate (ENG)
  Fairbrics is a company that aims to reverse climate change by creating technologies that remove carbon from the atmosphere and developing solutions that promote a circular economy. Our first product is a breakthrough technology that uses molecular chemistry to transform waste CO₂ into polyester. This technology reduces the reliance on fossil fuels and lowers the carbon footprint of polyester production. Our polyester is made with minimal environmental impact, and we are working towards making it carbon-neutral and fully sustainable.
