Traditionally, coatings used in the construction sector are decorative or protective paints for walls and wood work. However, more and more coatings with other functionalities are developed and used in buildings and on building materials: protective coatings for concrete, easy-to-clean coatings for tiles and windows, heat-reflective coatings for windows, uv-protecting coatings for plastic construction materials, fire-resistant coatings, ... On 21 September, the cluster ‘Innovatieve Coatings’ organises a workshop and matchmaking event on this theme.
This event aims at bringing together companies from the building and the coating industry and is co-organised by WTCB-BBRI (Belgian Building Research Institute) and the Walloon Cluster ‘Eco construction’.
After the morning workshop, with a lecture on the needs of the building industry and two illustrations of the use of coatings in the building industry, each participant can present itself and its offer or needs in a 2 minutes pitching session. In the afternoon, bilateral meetings with the other participants will take place.

The Cluster ‘Innovatieve Coatings’ is an inititiative of Sirris, CoRI and Centexbel. It aims to increase competitiveness and to create economic added value by bringing players of the whole coating value chain (formulators, technology providers, coaters, end users, …) together across different coating sectors (metals, plastics, wood, textiles, …). More information on this cluster can be found at http://cluster-innovatieve-coa...
This event is being organized with the support of Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
